I grew up with
a menagerie of animals and my childhood Shetland pony was
always there for her to talk to and as soon as she was able
to put pencil to paper I was drawing the creatures that
fascinated me so much. My two loves have always been drawing
and horses, so it made sense for me to major in commercial
art and horsemanship in college. I kept my passion for
horses as a hobby and followed a career as a commercial artist.
In 1990 I started working as a freelance graphic designer/illustrator
specializing in architectural renderings for residential/commercial
designers and developers, which is ongoing. You can view
my portfolio at www.illustration-graphics.com.
Animals continued to enhance
my life when my husband and I raised purebred Arabian
horses and AKC Registered Norwegian Elkhounds for over a
decade. It was during this time that my awareness of our
animals and their well being began a journey.
My husband and I moved to Central Vermont from Atlanta,
GA, in 2006 with all our critters in tow. We built a modest
log cabin from the trees off the land and we are surrounded
by a beautiful countryside to play in. We enjoy living a
holistic life and try to be as green as possible.
My involvement with all the animals that have touched my
life developed into a mutual healing and nurturing relationship
that I wish to pass on to others through the images of their
companion animals.
